Louis Riel Day
Tomorrow is day off to spend with friends and family and to remember who brought Manitoba into Confederation. Louis Riel was a complicated man, but he was able to negotiate for the protection of both French and English speaking people. He also believed in having a bilingual providence.
These rights were taken away. and took many years to get back. It is nice to recognize our heritage and at the same time, have a long weekend in this beautiful province. There is so much to see and do!
